About

I was brought up with many different breeds of dogs. However long we had them, they all had a special place in my heart. We had a variety of rescue dogs, a few German Shepherds and well disciplined gun dogs.

After leaving home it was my turn to choose the family dog. I chose a Golden Retriever and called her Maggie. I wanted a family friendly, easy to train dog. She surpassed my expectations as a gentle family dog whom everybody loved. We, as a family then chose her a friend, a Boston Terrier, who we then bred and kept her 2 puppies. The total of our furry family at present is 5, after losing Maggie we got Winnie, another Golden Retriever, and then another Boston Terrier.

This gave me a wealth of knowledge of the interaction between humans and dogs. It also highlighted the many issues dogs can have and how they effect each other, and the human family, and visa versa. It made me understand why one of my own dogs has behavioural issues and how to manage her.

I studied Dog Law and Advanced Dog Behaviour with the British College of Canine Studies. Certificates in Canine Body language and Reactive Rascals. As part of the The Dog Training College, I partake in various workshops and seminars to keep my skills updated.

I wanted to help rescue dogs so I decided to start fostering Boston Terriers for the UK Boston Terrier Rescue. Using my dog behaviour skills to modify any behavioural issues they have, so they can be rehomed permanently. I also offer telephone support to many owners to help avoid the dog coming into rescue.
